Indosat Ooredoo declared its network readiness in serving customers during homecoming and Eid Al-Fitr 1438 H. This was reaffirmed during the visit of Minister of Communications and Informatics Rudiantara to Indosat Ooredoo to check network preparedness in serving the needs of customer communication during the Eid Al-Fitr 1438 H, good for voice, data, and SMS service.
In this visit, Minister of Communications and Information Rudiantara directly witnessed the monitoring of national telecommunication network through Indosat Ooredoo Network Operation Center (i-NOC), Command Center and Digital Engagement Center (DEC).
President Director and CEO of Indosat Ooredoo Alexander Rusli said that in anticipation of this telecommunication traffic spike, the company has set up our network through capacity building for data, voice, and SMS as well as intensive network quality monitoring through i-NOC and DEC. “In order for customers and society to get the best experience in communicating and stay in touch with relatives and family comfortably and smoothly,” Alex said.
Facing a period of increasing telecommunication traffic during Ramadhan and Eid Al-Fitr 1438 H, Indosat Ooredoo network capacity has been increased, among others, to data service capacity to 7344 Terabytes/day, voice service capacity is set to 37.5 million Erlang/day, and for SMS capacity is increased to 1.9 Billion SMS / day. This capacity increase is prepared for 95.6 million Indosat Ooredoo customers throughout Indonesia.
Indosat Ooredoo predicts the increase in telecommunication traffic during Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr 1438 H, which for data services will increase by 69% compared to regular daily traffic in line with the increasing trend of social media usage. Voice services are also predicted to still increase during peak traffic in Lebaran this year.
The operator of Ooredoo subsidiary (Qatar Telecom) also ensures the network during Ramadhan and Lebaran Mudik in a prime performance monitored and controlled from Indosat Ooredoo Network Operation Center (i-NOC). This Command Center will operate a few days before and after Idul Fitri to proactively identify through Performance Monitoring team before a disturbance impact to the customer, and reactively through our Customer Service team so that if any problem can be solved as soon as possible.
One more facility that will be optimized is Indosat Ooredoo Service Operation Center (ISOC) to monitor the quality of service applications commonly used by customers such as Youtube, Instagram, Whatsapp, Facebook, Spotify, Iflix, and so forth. Through this facility, Indosat Ooredoo will ensure that not only the network stability but also the quality of each application is in good condition to support the homecoming and holiday activities of the customers.
