Huawei’s action in the world’s smartphone competition shines even more. Based on data from research institutes such as IDC, SA, and Trendforce, the number of shipment of Huawei’s smartphone units ranked 3rd in the world and ranked first in China. Huawei P9 and P9 Plus successfully sold more than 12 million units worldwide, making it the first successful Huawei flagship smartphone that has sold more than 10 million units. The latest Huawei P10 series has been officially released globally and greeted enthusiastically by the world’s consumers.
But what about Indonesia? Until 2016, Huawei is still not calculating the alias is not included in the top six. Samsung, OPPO, and Asus still dominate. Vivo who belonged to new players throughout the year 2017 is marketing aggressively in various lines, by imitating OPPO strategy. Meanwhile, Huawei looks still cool calm, or vice versa, being exhausted to try to survive.
The newest product Huawei P10 has been launched globally in February last. The competitor who launched the flagship product at almost the same time has been available for a few months in the Indonesian market. Meanwhile, Huawei P10 still no official news when the launch. They are still struggling to meet the 4G LTE local content regulations (TKDN) to be sold officially. Somehow, even though they already have an assembly plant in Surabaya, although not the factory itself (rent).
The news that blows, Huawei P10 will be launched in Indonesia this August, although the date is still a mystery. Luckily, I was able to taste this phone even if only briefly. Here are my impressions when touching Huawei P10 some time ago
DESIGN
In concept, Huawei P10 has the same design with its predecessor Huawei P9, but with little difference in detail. This phone embraces the design of unibody made of solid metal and glass that is more curved in all corners. So it feels more smooth and elegant. Huawei also designed in such a way, so that when I hold it, it feels better in the palm and still feels solid.
Around the body there are USB C plugs, volume buttons, Power button, place the SIM card, and audio plugs are still the same position with P9. But unlike the P9 that puts the fingerprint sensor behind the body like most high-end Android phones today, the P10 actually put this feature on the front of the device at the bottom.
Somewhat surprising because at a time when many Android smartphones are trying to remove the buttons on the front and move them backward, Huawei precisely opposite to back to the original place. This is not a problem. Just for me as a user, the placement is more accessible when for example placed on the table, without the need to lift it.
The fingerprint sensor on the Huawei P10 also adds a navigation function, which is touch to go back, touch and hold to access the homepage, sweep left or right to see active apps and sweep up to open Google search. If navigation with the fingerprint sensor is inconvenient, you can display the virtual navigation buttons on the screen.
SCREEN
Huawei P10 5.1 “screen size is slightly smaller than the P9 5.2” but with the same resolution of Full HD 1920 x 1080 pixels. This smartphone has an IPS LCD screen, which is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass. Nothing special on the screen. As a premium phone, to be more competitive in the visual sector, I would expect higher resolution like the one in Samsung Galaxy S8 and LG G6 with 2K display and 18: 9 ratio. The use of 2K resolution is also very suitable for watching virtual reality content through the VR headset.
I still have not found the privilege on the screen. As a premium phone, to be more competitive in the visual sector, I would expect higher resolution like the one in Samsung Galaxy S8 and LG G6 with 2K display and 18: 9 ratio. The use of 2K resolution is also very suitable for watching virtual reality content through the VR headset.
CAMERA
After all, the main strength of Huawei P10 where else if not the camera. Huawei P10 follow the footsteps of its predecessor who has two rear cameras with optical technology from leading German camera company, Leica. Cooperation with Leica increased the level of greatness on this phone drastically. Make it more confident when taken. Because Leica has become a guarantee of quality in the world of photography.
Huawei does drat improvement in the camera sector Huawei P10, but I think P9 alone is satisfactory. Compare only from the specs. The main camera of Huawei P9 has a monochrome and RGB lens with 12MP sensor and f / 2.2 aperture. While the front camera has an 8MP sensor with f / 2.4 aperture, without Leica technology in it.
Meanwhile, Huawei P10 du, the main camera uses 12 MP monochrome sensor and 12 MP color sensor. This makes the photo portrait monochrome to be much more powerful, as characteristic of Leica. Likewise with the front camera which also has been using Leica technology with the 8MP sensor. Selfie became cooler, bold pitted with smartphone brands that always favor the ability of the selfie.
For the technology, still the same as before using dual camera Summarit H 1: 2.2 / 27 ASPH (spherical Lens Surface) result of cooperation with LEICA. Aperture (aperture) Huawei P10 is F / 2.2, while Huawei P10 Plus version is even higher that is F / 1.8.
Just look, technically the capital is so much. I just had the opportunity to try the camera in a short time indoors. And the results are very good indeed. But I still can not share any further. Later if already test the product, we will see what kind of results.
MACHINE INSIDE
In the machine inside the body, Huawei P10 brings Huawei’s original chipset, the Kirin 960 combined 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory. The configuration of the chipset is the Cortex A57 processor core that handles heavy applications, and the A53 processor cores that make it power efficient.
Huawei implements machine learning technology that can ‘learn’ which applications are the most frequent and rarely you use and modify the kernel in the operating system for faster phone performance. This Chinese technology company also developed Ultra Memory technology that can intelligently allocate, recycle, and compress memory, so that frequently used applications will work faster than ever.
Meanwhile, to support everyday activities, Huawei immersed a 3.200mAh battery that claimed to last for 1.8 days. While heavy users will get 1.3 days of battery life. You will get a more powerful battery in Huawei P10 Plus with 3,750mAh. In addition, there is also a fast charging feature that can make smartphones quickly charged.
This is all I can share about Huawei P10. I can not wait for the launch in Indonesia.
