To introduce startups that have received assistance and development in NextDev Academy to the public, Telkomsel held Showcase The NextDev Academy. According to VP Corpcomm Telkomsel Adita Irawati, socialization of this startup is a company’s effort to introduce digipreneurship or entrepreneurship in the digital field to young Indonesian children.
“This activity is expected to inspire young Indonesian prospective developers in various areas so that in the future opens collaborative opportunities to find the right solution in urban development,” said Adita Irawati.
The start-up socialization event featured 10 finalists of The NextDev competition in 2015 and 2016 selected as the top 10 participants of The NextDev Academy based on several assessment parameters, namely quantitative performance, product maturity, business model validity, and reliability of public communications and marketing. The ten startups are Eragano, Kostoom, Hand-held, Vestifarm, My Footsteps, The Denim Club, Habibi Garden, Parking, Credible, and Angkuts.
The NextDev Academy Showcase runs for two days in five cities, namely Medan (2-3 September), Bandung (9-10 September), Yogyakarta (16-17 September), Surabaya (23-24 September), and Makassar (30 September -1 October 2017).
On the first day, the top 10 finalists of The NextDev Academy 2017 are doing a demo and pitching team to inspire visitors with their apps. This activity is also filled with talk show sessions that present practitioners in the startup industry, namely Yoris Sebastian (Founder & Creative Thinker OMG Consulting), Iman Usman (Co-Founder & CEO of Space), Dennis Adhiswara (CEO of Layaria), Gibran Huzaifah (Founder & CEO of eFishery), Peter Shearer (Managing Director of AR & Co), and Yansen Kamto (Founder Kibar).
While on the second day, rocket pitching was held to capture the finalists of The NextDev 2017 Competition. The registration of rocket pitching was opened before the roadshow for 20 registrants with each team consisting of a maximum of three people. Each participating team was given three minutes to present an application idea that presented the problems, solutions, and business models for urban issues.
The topics to choose from are the categories in The NextDev 2017 Competition, e-Health (e-Education), e-Agriculture (agriculture), and e-Transportation (transportation). Determination of the best participants in rocket pitching is done by the judges who are experienced in the field of digital startup.
The two best participants in rocket pitching in each city received a special prize. The first best participant is entitled to the golden ticket to the top 20 The NextDev 2017 Competition as well as TCASH balance of Rp 3 million. Meanwhile, the second best participant won tickets to the top 100 of the same competition and TCASH balance of Rp 1 million.
For information, The NextDev Academy is an event to sharpen and sharpen the quality of applications created the startup which became finalists of The NextDev 2015 and 2016. By participating in the academy which took place from July to October 2017, the finalists of The NextDev will get the right insight and useful so as to develop their applications more effectively, while also participating in maintaining the sustainability of the application developer community and the application-based digital ecosystem.
The NextDev Academy is held to enhance the scalability of social technopreneurs through self-development and capacity building in research and customer development, design sprint, branding, product development, and business model and bootstrapping.
