Jakarta, Gizmologi – As the new flagship phone, Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G combines two of the superior strengths of the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note series. Not only bring the best camera specs and powerhouse productivity tools but also features heat transfer technology.
In order for a smartphone to always function optimally, it needs a combination of hardware as well as the software the best and the best. Because not only fast, the smartphone that we use is also expected to last a full day, with performance that is constantly maintained. Generally, a speeding chipset is also followed by a hotter temperature.

The hot temperature on the smartphone certainly makes the body uncomfortable to use. In addition, other effects such as throttling can also interfere with performance, because the processor speed has to be limited or lowered, in order to prevent overheating. Although now equipped with an integrated S Pen, Samsung can still embed a large battery complete with an optimal cooling system on the Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G.
Through the latest heat transfer technology, which is able to function adaptively, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G is claimed not to heat up easily when used. Here are a number of innovations that were presented specifically related to the device cooling system.
Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G uses heat transfer distributing material
In order for the performance of the Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G to be optimal throughout the day, it is necessary to have the best heat transfer system so that the temperature is maintained—transferring energy or heat from the source, spreading it to all other parts. Samsung uses special materials for each part of the system, starting from the thermal interface material (TIM).
TIM itself is a substance that can improve the process of heat transfer from every surface in a heat distribution system. Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G is equipped with Gel TIM, a gel that has the right thickness to conduct heat faster—3.5x more efficiently than the previous generation. On it, embedded nano-TIM as a shield to prevent electromagnetic interference from the processor.
The Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G’s nano-TIM is made with a new flexible nano-fiber material, making it more resistant to stress than previous solutions that used solid metal. Besides being more effective, it can also transfer heat faster to the vapor chamber.
Vapor Chamber Dimensions Wider & Stronger
Another part of the smartphone heat distribution system is the vapor chamber, which acts as the most effective heat dissipator. Generally, the vapor chamber is placed on top of the PCB, aka the surface that includes the processor and other hardware. But with the PCB getting smaller, of course, the heat distribution will be less than optimal.
Although the Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G comes in a thin profile with a large battery, Samsung can still expand the dimensions of the vapor chamber, extending from the processor area to the battery. Designed using stainless steel material that is specially pressed to make it thinner and more pressure-resistant, this is what makes the coverage area wider.
From the vapor chamber, the heat energy will be distributed to the outermost layer, namely the graphite sheet or graphite sheet. This sheet has a function to spread heat horizontally. So that the heat from the inside of the Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G hardware components can be dissipated outside, allowing the device to function smoothly throughout the day at a maintained temperature.
In addition to hardware-based solutions, Samsung also embeds special software-based thermal management solutions. Its function is to adjust hardware and software performance, effectively cooling the process when needed. This is also supported by the use of the latest chipset from Qualcomm which is not just fast.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset on the Galaxy S22 Series 5G has gone through a 4nm fabrication process. The smaller the dimensions, indicating that the chipset is more power-efficient. This means that the resulting high performance will be offset by lower power than the previous generation, preventing overheating.
Presents New Features of Vision Booster
Included as one of the benefits of having the best heat transfer system, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G is also equipped with a new feature called Vision Booster. As the name implies, this feature will make it easier for users to view content on the screen in outdoor conditions. More specifically, such as the conditions of use in direct sunlight.
The 2X Dynamic AMOLED display panel on the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G can be brightly lit up to 1,750 nits. But not only does it brighten the screen, but Vision Booster also uses a special algorithm that analyzes the content on the screen at the individual pixel level. Through tone mapping, dark areas will be brighter, while the color display is also made richer.
So that not only is it brighter, the contrast of the screen when viewed in sunlight is also improved. Of course, this solution can only come with the best heat distribution system, considering the conditions are quite challenging, where heat is obtained from the area of use and the screen is brightly lit.
