realme Successfully Overtakes Many Other Global Brands
As seen in the image above, realme managed to get the highest growth in the value of 5G smartphone shipments compared to six other global brands. In the fourth quarter of 2021, growth reached 165% year-on-year, compared to data from the previous year. Overtaking Samsung by 109%, OPPO at 42%, and even Apple at 30%.
As the youngest smartphone brand among others, the value of this very fast growth is certainly the result of the various efforts that have been made so far. One of them is driven by the company’s expansion process to Western European countries. Call it Italy, Spain, France, England, and Switzerland. Thanks to the presence of the realme 8 5G series and several realme GT series.
Affordable 5G smartphone options in the European region have also started earlier, aka more, considering the widespread availability of the network. But other than that, Counterpoint said sales of 5G devices from realme were also quite good in other regions such as the Middle East, North Africa, and the Asia Pacific.

The three regions mentioned above are included in the majority of the 20 markets where realme 5G smartphone shipments are in the top five.
