Samsung has recently hosted the Galaxy Unpacked event in its home country of South Korea, where it revealed two cutting-edge foldable smartphones featuring innovative screen folding mechanisms. So, here’s a different option, the unboxing of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 with Cover Screen.
Both the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 come with significant improvements, both internally and externally. Both phones have Qualcomm’s flagship 2023 chipset and an improved hinge called the Flex Hinge. It is designed to minimize creases and folding marks, particularly in the middle of the screen.
Currently, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 are available for pre-order until August 17, 2023. During the pre-order period, customers are offered a bonus of 2x storage upgrade, along with additional Samsung Care+ insurance. Here’s a review of the unboxing experience of the Galaxy Z Flip 5, which is similar to its predecessor.
Looking Inside the Galaxy Z Flip 5
For several years now, Samsung has been simplifying its product packaging by excluding accessories such as a charger adapter for environmental sustainability reasons. When unboxing the Galaxy Z Flip 5, the experience is similar to previous Samsung flagships. The thin box displays color options that match the device.
The Galaxy Z Flip 5 unboxing box contains the device, a warranty card, a quick instruction booklet, a SIM card ejector, and a USB-C to USB-C data cable.Unlike OPPO, vivo, Xiaomi, and some other vendors, you need to purchase a charger adapter separately, with the right power output for optimal charging speed.
As for the device itself, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 already has a screen protector both on the outer glass and, of course, the inner screen. Samsung has informed users that they should not attempt to casually remove or replace the inner screen protector. Samsung devices must be repaired by authorized technicians in Indonesia’s 29 cities due to the use of different materials.
Sturdier & Slimmer Body Design
In terms of design, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 looks significantly different from its previous version, especially on the front screen. The Cover Screen is now larger, measuring 3.4 inches. Users can access more applications, including Google Maps and Netflix.
Taking photos from the Cover Screen is also easier, allowing creators to capture daily moments more quickly. Other differences lie in the materials used and the Flex Hinge. The Gorilla Glass Victus 2 covering both sides of the outer body is claimed to be around 20% stronger, as is the Armor Aluminium on the frame.
The new Flex Hinge allows the Galaxy Z Flip 5 to close tightly without any gap, making the device profile slimmer by up to 2mm when closed. When folded, the screen adopts a waterdrop design, claimed to make the middle part more durable than before.
The price of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is the same as the Z Flip 3, which means it is Rp1 million more expensive than the Z Flip 4. However, during the pre-order period, customers can get the 512GB capacity by paying the 256GB price, which is Rp15,999,000. This includes 1-year Samsung Care+ insurance and special screen protection for 2 years.
