Every year there are always Android phones with frills “iPhone killer”. Once the iPhone 15 Pro is released, of course the old song will be replayed. Indeed, you can be that sure?
Actually, that’s fine. However, as a suggestion for Android phone manufacturers, if they really want to beat the iPhone 15 Pro, it seems that they must have these features:
Better Camera Optimization
Android phone cameras have indeed shown tremendous progress in their camera features. For example, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra has great zoom-in, low-light, dynamic range, and pixel size performance.
It’s just that many Android phones put the pixel size as a mere gimmick and are inconsistent between the photo results and the original colors.
If you want to beat the iPhone 15 Pro, Android phone manufacturers are not only jor-joran in hardware such as camera modules to the amount of pixels, but also the software behind it. Terutama image processing, di mana biasanya ponsel Android cenderung lebay, sehingga membuat hasil foto tidak natural.
More Efficient Software
The last few releases of the iPhone are famous for their efficiency in terms of battery life, even though the capacity is smaller than that of Android phones in general. Even the amount of RAM that the iPhone has is also less high when compared to Android phones which now even reach dozens of GB, but its use is still smooth.
This is where the software behind the iPhone, which is admittedly better than Android, comes in. Apple presents iOS in a proprietary manner so that it can focus on optimizing each iPhone product, including power performance.
So, if an Android phone wants to beat the iPhone 15 Pro, it seems that it will have to do more or less the same thing as Apple: focus on optimizing the embedded software.
Stronger Frame than iPhone 15 Pro
One of the excellent features on the iPhone 15 Pro series is that the frame uses Grade 5 titanium material which is not only stronger than stainless steel, but also lighter in weight. Other research claims that this material is 45% lighter than stainless steel but has the same strength.
While there are still many Android phones that use aluminum-based frames, there are still many Android phones that use aluminum-based frames. It’s lighter, but much more fragile.
So, if you want to beat the iPhone 15 Pro, it seems that Android phones must have other materials that are stronger than titanium or at least use the same material but with a higher grade.
More Efficient Chipset
Not just an exclusive operating system, Apple also equips the iPhone 15 Pro with the A17 chipset which is more efficient than the previous generation. It is common knowledge that the chipset owned by the iPhone is known to be more efficient than most chipsets used by Android phones.
In fact, the iPhone chipset is made by TSMC, while Snapdragon, which is widely used by Android phones, is historically not as good as TSMC’s. At least not yet.
So, if an Android phone wants to beat the iPhone 15 Pro it seems that it will have to use TSMC-made chipsets or chipset manufacturers like Samsung Exynos or Qualcomm upgrade their factories according to the 3nm process on TSMC-made chipsets.
More Third-Party Support
It is no longer news, if the same application will be better if it runs on an iPhone compared to an Android phone. This is because it’s easier for third-party app developers to optimize apps or games for the iPhone.
While for each year many Android phones are released from various types and brands, so that the developers do not focus on one of them.
To beat the iPhone 15 Pro, of course, Android phone manufacturers will have to convince third parties to focus their apps for the devices they make. The question is: do you want to?
