Not long ago, Samsung Electronics announced its success in making the new Exynos 2500 semiconductor chip measuring 3 nanometers. Samsung’s collaboration with Synopsys, an AI technology company, helped them create their best semiconductor chip.
The Samsung Exynos 2500 will not be released in the near future. However, it has been predicted that this chip will be the main device that will be present with the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25. If you follow timeline which has been running at the same time as the device code, then 2025 will be the debut for this generation of flagship smartphones.
The Exynos 2500’s toughest ‘rival’ comes from Qualcomm’s product, namely Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. These chips both use 3nm architecture and are planned to be released in October 2024. Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 has 8 Cortex-X5 cores for a frequency of 4000. Meanwhile, the Samsung Exynos 2500 has specifications for 10 cores ARMv9.2-A – 3200 MHz. Test results from Nanoreview.net is a brief overview of the performance of the two chips.
Historically, Snapdragon chips from Qualcomm are known to have advantages in terms of better power efficiency. Meanwhile, Samsung’s Exynos tends to be more efficient in terms of power. For this reason, the Galaxy S25 product is predicted to have much more efficient battery life.

Samsung Exynos 2500 AI Technology Design Success
The Samsung Exynos 2500 is an important achievement in the global semiconductor chip industry. The collaboration between Samsung and Synopsys feels even more special because this is a chip manufacturing process assisted by AI technology using EDA (Eletronic Design Automation) tools. This means that every component embedded in the 3nm Exynos 2500 comes from Synopsys’ AI algorithm capabilities.
“Our long collaboration delivers superior semiconductor designs. It is our success to achieve higher success in terms of performance, power and area in CPUs and semiconductors for mobile devices through collaboration with Synopsys,” said Kijoon Hoong, Vice President of SLS Samsung Electronics.
In Synopsys’ official release, their ability to make chips with structures as complex as 3nm has provided significant changes. Now Samsung products are claimed to be able to provide increased performance of up to 300Mhz, with up to 10% more efficient power usage.
