Pernah mendengar pepatah ‘don’t judge a book by the cover’? Maybe this proverb is suitable for the film The Wild Robot. If you look at the beginning of this film, you might think that this will be an ordinary film, showing the relationship between robots and living creatures.
However, it turns out that the film writer was able to provide a character of a robot named ROZZUM unit 7134 or Roz that we can remember with all its uniqueness. Then the relationship between the robot and the animals is well established and nothing seems forced.
Other characters include a baby goose named Brightbill who is being looked after by Roz, and Fink, a fox who turns out to need a friend. The relationship between the three is made interesting by taking on problems that are commonly found in an environment.
Even though the animals in this film are made to be able to talk, the author still gives them the natural characteristics of an animal so that everything is still in its place. This method makes the audience feel comfortable watching the film The Wild Robot until the end.
The main conflict in this film is not too heavy, but that doesn't mean it will reduce the value of this film. Because the conflict is still related to the robot's relationship with the foster child, as well as regarding Roz's origins.

Because this is an animated film, of course DreamWorks Animation gave its best ability in making this film good. In terms of the colors provided, it makes the audience comfortable and the depiction of the characters is good but simple.
It seems that DreamWorks doesn't really want to put in much effort to depict a more sophisticated Roz. Or the existing animal characters are made as is without any iconic side.
However, overall, you can still watch the film The Wild Robot with a calming storyline. On the scoring side, DreamWorks is quite clever at adapting the right music to several scenes in the film The Wild Robot.
