Jakarta, Gizmology – Samsung Electronics Indonesia reaffirms its commitment to supporting the younger generation through events Samsung Solve for Tomorrow (SFT) 2025This annual program provides a platform for students to present technological solutions to various social and environmental challenges. This year, the two main themes are Technology for Environmental Sustainability and Technology for Social Change through Sports.
From hundreds of proposals received, six top teams were selected after a rigorous selection process. In addition to showcasing creativity, their ideas were deemed capable of making a real impact on society. SFT 2025 also features a special collaboration with the International Olympic Committee (IOC), allowing winners with the theme Social Change through Sport & Tech to advance to global competition and the opportunity to become SFT Global Ambassadors at the 2026 Winter Olympics.
Bagus Erlangga, Head of Corporate Marketing at Samsung Electronics Indonesia, stated that this program is not just a competition, but a tangible demonstration of empathy and social responsibility from the younger generation. "They prove that technology driven by compassion can bring real change to society," he said.
Smart Ideas from Indonesian Youth

In the higher education category, the Labmino team from the University of Indonesia won first place with RunSight, AI-powered smart glasses that assist visually impaired runners with real-time voice guidance. In second place was the Hackie Chan team from Brawijaya University, which created Pantara, an AI-powered digital platform to help manage fresh food in the Free Nutritious Meal program. Meanwhile, the KYGB team from Bina Nusantara Alam Sutera University won third place thanks to Gesti Talk, an AI-powered sign language translation application to increase inclusivity in public spaces.
From the high school category, the Fungaes team from SMAN Unggulan MH Thamrin emerged as the first winner with MycoSense, a soil quality monitoring system based on natural fungal networks and Edge-AI to support sustainable agriculture. The TIMSES team from MAN 2 Malang City took second place with EcoZone, an agricultural industrial liquid waste treatment system based on electro-ozonation and IoT. The R2045 NEST-X team from MAS International Technonatura closed the top three with their innovation of Kandang HIJAU, an environmentally friendly, solar-powered automatic chicken farming system.
Prof. Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd., Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, assessed SFT as a concrete manifestation of the Impactful Diktisaintek movement. He emphasized that intelligence is not only measured by technological mastery, but also by the extent to which humanitarian values are applied. "A good competition produces winners, but a great competition produces changes that inspire the movement of the times," he said.
Propelling a Generation of Innovators to the Global Level

The two winning teams, Labmino and KYGB, with the theme "Social Change through Sport & Tech," will represent Indonesia at the Solve for Tomorrow Southeast Asia and Oceania competition. They will have the opportunity to become innovation ambassadors at the 2026 Winter Olympics, alongside 10 of the world's best teams.
Gugun Gumilar, Ph.D., Special Staff to the Minister of Religious Affairs for Harmony and International Cooperation, expressed his appreciation for Samsung's consistent efforts in empowering young people. He believes this program aligns with the values of empathy-based education and social collaboration. "Innovation born from sensitivity to others will bring significant benefits to society," he said.
Meanwhile, Dr. Muhammad Muchlas Rowi, Special Staff for Digital Transformation at the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, added that programs like this are important for building a superior generation towards Golden Indonesia 2045. "Samsung Solve for Tomorrow is a platform for students to think critically and create real solutions for society," he said.
Anthony Edbert Feriyanto from the Labmino team called this event a movement that motivates young people to innovate, not just a competition. Meanwhile, Talita Almira Salsabila from the Fungaes team assessed that this program opens up broader access to learning thanks to the mentoring and materials provided by Samsung and Skilvul.
With the spirit of "Together for Tomorrow," Samsung hopes SFT will continue to be a platform for Indonesia's young generation to innovate and make a real social impact.
