Jakarta, Gizmologi – After the Valorant Game drama against Singapore in the grand final round of the 2023 SEA Games. The Indonesian national team finally managed to win the gold medal. Although, the Indonesian Valorant team had to be willing to share with Singapore for this title.
The final match was actually held on Wednesday (10/5) yesterday, at that time the Indonesian National Team could only win a silver medal. However, the Indonesian National Team suspected cheating by the Singapore camp by exploiting a bug in the Valorant game.
"During the match, we have shown evidence that Singaporean athletes used bugs. Because of this finding, we protested and raised this issue to the highest leader in organizing the SEA Games," said Tjahjono Prasetyanto as Chairman of the 2023 SEA Games National Esports Team, in his statement, Thursday (11/5/2023).
In fact, in the rule book at the technical meeting, this had been discussed and conveyed by the organizers and referees that athletes were not allowed to use it. However, they ended up losing with a score of 8-13 on the first map at Ascent.
Allegations of cheating were detected on the second map, Split, when Singapore used the Spycam skill, which is a surveillance camera belonging to agent Cypher. The camera from the skill was considered to be placed in an inappropriate position.

"Until the journey this morning, the committee initially decided unilaterally that the match would be replayed with a score of 5-5. With that attitude, the Valorant National Team also did not want to participate in the ceremony or medal ceremony and only took the silver medal. However, in further developments, another meeting was held which directly involved SEAGF as the highest organizing organization in the 2023 SEA Games.
"Then offered by the SEAGF laywer to Indonesia given a gold medal, so two (golds) for Indonesia and Singapore on the basis of consideration of maintaining relations between Indonesia and Singapore. With that decision we are willing to accept," said Tjahjono.
An interesting scene occurred during the medal distribution. It was seen at that moment that the Singapore Valorant National Team only sent one representative to the podium, while other teams, including Indonesia, lined up to receive medals with complete representatives.
