SOne of the camera manufacturers that is quite popular among video content creators, Panasonic has just updated its best-selling product on the market. The company that was founded in 1918 presents the Lumix GH5 II as a 'gap' filler, because it is preparing the GH6 series which is rumored to be present at least before the end of 2021. Same Sensor, Lumix GH5 II Uses New Processor

Given its design is still the same, Panasonic embeds the latest Venus Engine processor series in the Lumix GH5 II body. The main sensor itself is still the same, with a resolution of 20,3MP Digital Live MOS type. Only, this time it is equipped with an additional anti-reflective layer, for clearer image quality in certain lighting situations.
For video recording formats, the Lumix GH5 II can natively record in 4K 60p in 10-bit 4:2:0, where previously it could only be done using additional accessories, or internal 8-bit format. In addition, the V-Log L profile is also installed, where previously it was only a paid option. Plus, two additional Cinelike presets are D2 & V2.

The screen on the back of the body is made slightly smaller, now measuring 3 inches, but better in brightness and resolution (1,840K dots). While the body has improved stabilization, supporting longer shutter speeds of up to 6.5 stops. The connectivity sector has also been improved to be more modern.
No longer using microUSB, charging with a USB-C cable can now be faster because it supports the USB-PD standard. And still related to connectivity, the Lumix GH5 II can do live streaming to YouTube, Facebook, Twitch and other well-known platforms directly from the camera. You can use a Wi-Fi connection or a smartphone data network connected via a special application from Panasonic.
And for other portals, this camera also supports RTMP/RTMPS protocol and can provide video in 1080p 60fps format with a bitrate of 16Mbps. And in the future, Panasonic will provide software updates to support IP streaming cable format aka RTP/RTSP). In addition to the ability to be converted into a webcam of course.
Price of Panasonic Lumix GH5 II & Lumix GH6

Coming with a new processor and various other feature enhancements, Panasonic's latest MFT camera is actually sold for USD400 cheaper than its first generation when it was launched in 2017. The Lumix GH5 II is available starting at USD1,699, or around Rp24 million.
Meanwhile, for the bundling package with a 12-60mm f/2.8 – f/4 lens, it can be obtained with a price tag of USD2,299 (Rp32 million). In the future, the Panasonic Lumix GH6 will be able to record videos in a better format, even without a time limit. The price itself is estimated to reach USD2,500 (Rp35 million).
