Battery Cell Factory Completes Hyundai's Electric Car Production

The company is dedicated to achieving the full potential of the EV production chain and will utilize battery cells manufactured locally by PT HLI Green Power. These battery cells will be assembled into battery pack by PT Hyundai Energy Indonesia and will be loaded into the Hyundai Kona Electric vehicle made in Indonesia. The factory will produce up to 50.000 Battery System Assemblies (BSA) for BEVs annually.
The factory complements PT Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (HMMI) which has been producing IONQ 5, the first locally produced EV in Indonesia. The facility will increase EV production capacity to 70.000 units this year with a total production capacity of 150.000 units per year.
In addition, the company also continues to support easier charging access through the construction of more than 240 charging station networks, including the fastest Ultra Fast Charging Station in Indonesia. Certified IP54, the Ultra Fast Charging Station is waterproof and safe in rainy conditions. And implementing an EV battery recycling system that has a limited usage period, known as Used Battery Energy Storage System (UBESS).
This system reuses used batteries as energy storage units, with the potential to facilitate energy distribution to remote areas.
