SSince the release of the early era of smartwatches such as the Pebble generation, until now with WearOS, there have been quite a lot of smartwatch manufacturers competing to release products with their respective advantages. Not only fashion brands, indie brands or small brands also release their superior products, usually through Kickstarter first.
One that has been quite well known is TicWatch, through their value for money smartwatch series. However, not only the cheap version, TicWatch also presents flagship smartwatches such as TicWatch Pro 3 which has just been released. In addition to its premium appearance, the advantage it brings is the use of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4100 chipset for the first time.

TicWatch Pro 3 Advantages

Just like the previous generation, this smartwatch uses a Dual-Layer display. What is meant is that there are two layers of screen; a 1,4-inch OLED panel below, and an always-on FSTN above it. When the OLED screen is in use, the FSTN screen will turn transparent, and when the main screen is not in use, this secondary screen will light up, to save battery life.
The secondary screen will always be on, and use a material that remains clearly visible under sunlight, can be used to show time, number of steps or sports variables. Well, for the health features themselves, there are four additional features brought to the TicWatch Pro 3.
TicOxygen functions to measure the level of oxygen saturation in the blood or SpO2, a variable that can be used to find out the early signs of symptoms of the Covid-19 virus. In addition, there are TicZen and TicBreather to monitor stress and relaxation levels, and TicHearing to measure the level of sound or noise around.
Meanwhile, the new Snapdragon Wear 4100 chipset promises 85% faster performance, with a GPU that has twice the capability. This performance increase can be said to be quite crucial, so that the display of notifications or when running sports applications can occur instantly, with the addition of 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage memory.
In addition to being faster, the battery is also long-lasting. With a slightly larger dimension, the battery capacity has now increased by 40%, reaching 577 mAh. Even so, the weight has been reduced by 28% (41 grams). With Smart Mode, the TicWatch Pro 3 can be on for up to 72 hours of use, or three days. While the power saving mode can extend it up to 45 days, using the secondary screen fully.
The sensors are quite complete, including light sensors, gyroscopes and accelerometers, barometers, PPG heart rate sensors, GPS including NFC. With IP68 certification, this device is safe and capable of recording swimming sports processes.
