SIn addition to releasing a smartwatch, Shenzhen-based telecommunications company ZTE, which was founded in 1985, has also released three new Android smartphone series. All three are high-performance devices that prioritize 5G network support, and the ZTE S30 Pro is the most luxurious option.
ZTE itself once existed in Indonesia through telephone devices that supported CDMA networks, and also included landlines (which Gizmo friends may still be able to find on the market). Even so, its smartphone line is quite popular in other countries, able to compete with Honor and other brands in the same class. Releases ranging from premium series to entry class.
Through the ZTE S30 Pro, ZTE wants to try to present the experience of a flagship smartphone with distinctive features to a more affordable price segment. In addition to the Pro variant, the ZTE S20 & S30 SE are also presented, where the differences are relatively thin. Only in the chipset series and the use of the screen panel, the rest is still identical.

ZTE S30 Pro Comes with Snapdragon 768G Chip

In terms of design, both the ZTE S30 Pro & regular S30 look similar, have a camera module with slightly different accents inside. While the rear body comes with a gradient color effect that changes according to the light capture. It has a thickness of less than 8mm with a weight of only 178 grams.
In fact, the hardware inside is quite complex. In addition to the chipset Snapdragon 768G powerful, ZTE also embeds a cooling system with heat pipes and “memory fusion” technology—providing extra RAM capacity of up to 3GB for better performance. Plus a 5G antenna designed to get the best network no matter how the smartphone is held in the hand.
The screen is 6,67 inches in size, already using a full HD+ AMOLED panel complete with a 144Hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch sampling rate. Not only that, 3% DCI-P100 coverage also provides excellent color accuracy. The battery capacity may be relatively small at 4,200 mAh, but charging will be instant with 55W fast charging support.
In the camera sector, a 44MP punch-hole camera is prepared on the front, as well as a four-camera setup on the back. The main sensor has a resolution of 64MP and can record videos up to 4K 60fps, plus an 8MP ultra wide-angle, 2MP macro and 2MP depth sensor.
ZTE S30 & S30 SE Arrive As Cheaper Options

Unlike the Pro variant, the ZTE S30 carries many of the same features, but with some simplifications. The chipset used is the MediaTek Dimensity 720, while the screen changes to an LCD panel with a 90Hz refresh rate.
The battery capacity is 4,000 mAh and supports 30W charging. And for the camera section, only the front sensor drops to 16MP, and the maximum video recording capability is 4K 30fps which may be a limitation of the chipset.
The ZTE S30 SE variant is even simpler with Dimensity 700, without a high refresh rate, and a 48MP main camera sensor. However, the battery capacity is increased to 6,000 mAh, and supports 18 watt fast charging. The camera design has changed slightly, as the ultra wide-angle is absent for this cheapest variant.
ZTE S30 Pro, S30 & S30 SE Price

Despite being the most expensive variant, the price of the ZTE S30 Pro 5G is actually quite affordable. With an 8/256GB memory option, ZTE is pricing it at CNY2,998 or around Rp6,6 million. Meanwhile, the ZTE S30 & S30 SE are cheaper at CNY2,198 & CNY1,698 (Rp4,8 million & Rp3,7 million), respectively.
All three are available starting April 3, 2021, of course released first in their home countries. In addition to gaming capabilities, the ZTE S30 series provides various options for those who want 5G at different price points, with the ZTE S30 Pro being the favorite.
