Jakarta, Gizmologi โ Still during the GAIKINDO Jakarta Auto Show (GJAW) 2025, PT Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI) showcased a new vehicle as a Global Concept Launch, its first debut in Indonesia. Named Chery X, the concept car appears as a multi-SUV designed to be perfect for families. It can accommodate various needs such as long trips to more challenging routesโin other words, perfect for the Indonesian region.
Premiering on Monday (November 24th), the Chery X had previously debuted in its home country, specifically at the global Chery Brand Night 2025 event held last October. Interestingly, this car was presented through a "user co-creation" initiative, trying to break the boundaries of conventional design, offering spatial flexibility and adaptive modular functions according to user needs.
Indonesia has received a very special opportunity, trusted to contribute to the product concept, and even become the first global stage to showcase this latest concept. The debut of the Chery X concept in Indonesia also emphasizes Indonesia's strategic role in the company's global business map. Rifkie Setiawan, Head of Brand & Marketing Department of PT Chery Sales Indonesia, said that insights from its users have successfully encouraged Chery to present boundary-breaking innovations.

Chery X Designed Together with Users, Provides More Relevant Functions
"For Chery, customer needs are not just a source of inspiration, but the main driver of our strategic shift from a function-oriented approach to a scenario-oriented one. Every element of the Chery X is precisely designed to address real needs in various family situations. This vehicle was born from direct collaboration with users, not merely from our assumptions as a manufacturer," explained Rifkie in a release received by Gizmologi (24/11).
What is unique about the Chery X concept car is its function which is claimed to be present in six different configurations "6 = 1". Designed modular, its platform supports rearrangement of seat configurations in the cabin, even a removable rear tailgate. These options make the Chery X able to accommodate up to 99% of family mobility scenarios, with options ranging from four, six, to seven passengers. Whether you need to carry large items, or more spacious cabin space for long trips.
The Chery X cabin is also designed to make the camping experience more comfortable, feeling like a mobile home. All of these concepts are Chery's vision in presenting a "mobile home", so that it can provide space to realize personal dreams and the freedom of adventure. With a length of 4900mm and a wheelbase of 2800mm, 7 adult passengers can be accommodated comfortablyโmaking it easier for elderly passengers to get in and out without having to bend down, and allowing children to stand upright in the cabin.
Meanwhile, for those who prefer adventure, the Chery X can also be converted into camper mode, with a roof tent, rear entertainment screen, and an external power sourceโallowing users to enjoy the freedom of being outdoors. In the future, Chery will continue to develop the Chery X mode to transform into more functions, plus an official accessory package to expand the vehicle's functions.

The development of the Chery X modular car concept began in February 2024, with a 20-person product team conducting over 300 days of global market research. After collecting approximately 1350 user samples and over 40.000 pieces of feedback and suggestions, Chery ensured that all aspects of the Chery X were truly based on customer needs and aspirations.
Chery's global co-creation initiative officially marks a major step away from its closed development approach and toward a full-fledged open collaboration with its users. It heralds a new era of mobility no longer defined by brands but co-created with users.
