More smartphone vendors have been relying on Artificial Intelligence or AI to win hearts of potential buyers. This time around, it is Xiaomi that recently informs the coming of its latest smartphone, Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S, that is equipped with sophisticated artificial intelligence in its dual camera.
Artificial intelligence technology in Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S can significantly add consumers’ picture qualities. Thanks to location detection in the technology, the camera can smartly optimize pictures after they are taken. For instance, texts in presentation slides can be identified thus consumers can clearly read them after zooming them in, said Xiaomi in its blog.
Through learning machine model based on hundreds of thousands of self-portraits, Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S can accurately distinguish which are subjects and backgrounds so that it can create backgrounds be blur clearly. Users can then add dynamic bokeh effects in pictures that are already taken in portrait mode.
Artificial intelligence technology in the smartphone can also be found in a form of voice assistant that can control Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S and consumers’ smart home appliances. Divided into six categories with almost 100 voice commands, users can control appliances in their smart homes remotely or find pictures based on locations or time only by using certain voice commands.
Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S is introduced on March 27, 2018. In addition to the AI technology in its dual camera, Xiaomi is proud with its elegant design that serves as a work of art. The smartphone’s unique design element has been recognized by some museums and been given some awards.
Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S has beautiful ceramic on its back with curved design on all of its four sides that can be transitioned smoothly to be aluminum frame.

Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S operates newest Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 845 platform. With 8GB RAM and 256GB ROM, the performance of the phone will be maximal. The processor is also equipped with Adreno 630 graphics that can bring 30% better performance and 30% less battery consumption.
Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S applies Sony IM363 flagship censor for its dual camera setup with 1,4 μm pixel for good picture quality despite low light. The Dual Pixel technology for super fast auto focus is also included.
“The Mi MIX series has constantly pushed boundaries, defying everyone’s expectations about smartphone design and performance. Mi MIX 2S now comes with a powerful dual camera and integrated AI features for an experience on the move like no other,” said Lei Jun, CEO and co-founder of Xiaomi.
Another feature that looks tempting is 7.5 W fast wireless charging. For those of you who are interested buying the phone please be patient because it will be available in China on April 3, 2018, and will be shipped to other foreign selected markets later on.
