Until now, there has been no news for the Ultra series which previously carried the best camera setup.
Xiaomi 12 & 12 Pro Specifications
Enhanced from the previous generation, the design of the Xiaomi 12 Series itself is quite simple but also elegant. Made thin and light, the rear body uses a matte glass surface, with a unique camera module that has a dividing line between sensors and an LED flash module. It looks to have one large sensor and two other supporting sensors.
The mid-range option of the Xiaomi 12 Series, namely the Xiaomi 12, has a large screen with a coverage of 68 billion colors, HDR10+ & Dolby Vision support, and a maximum brightness of 1100 nits. Want better? The Pro variant has a WQHD + resolution and can fire up to 1500 nits. Plus, it supports adaptive refresh rates from 1 – 120Hz.
Both run the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip, Xiaomi 12 is supported by a 50MP main sensor, ultra-wide-angle, and telemacro, plus a 32MP front camera. The smartphone is equipped with ProFocus technology, plus a night mode for videos. In the Pro variant, the three sensors are wide, ultra-wide, and 2x telephoto, all with a 50MP resolution. All support night mode plus portrait night mode.
The battery capacity of the Xiaomi 12 Series is in the 4,500 – 4,600 mAh range. While the Xiaomi 12 supports 67W fast charging, the Xiaomi 12 Pro can go up to 120W—it claims to be fully charged from zero in just 18 minutes. In the final slide of the introduction, several retail stores are informed of cooperation for sales. Two of them include Shopee and Earphone.
Price of Xiaomi 12 Series Slightly More Expensive
Then to provide a more affordable option, Xiaomi introduced the third series of the Xiaomi 12 Series, namely the Xiaomi 12X. Carrying the same design, camera setup, screen, and battery as the vanilla variant, the Xiaomi 12X uses the Snapdragon 870 chipset which is actually still quite powerful, although it is lower than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
No less interesting, Xiaomi can still provide video recording capabilities up to 8K resolution, as well as 4K 60fps on the Xiaomi 12X. All variants of the Xiaomi 12 Series will also run the latest MIUI 13, with symmetrical dual speakers reinforced by Harman Kardon. So what is the price of each variant of the Xiaomi 12 Series?
The Xiaomi 12X starts at USD 649 (Rp 9 million), while the Xiaomi 12 starts at USD 749 (Rp 10.7 million), aka slightly more expensive than last year’s generation. Likewise, the Xiaomi 12 Pro is priced from USD 999 (Rp 14 million).
