CDNetworks is a network and Edge as a Service provider company in Asia Pacific. This company seeks to improve Indonesia’s digital infrastructure.
This South Korean company has only been present in Indonesia since 2023 and already has 2,800 Points of Presence (PoP) globally. PoP deployment is CDNetworks’ main focus in Indonesia so that it can strengthen the company’s infrastructure foundation.
“As a country with the potential for rapid digital economic growth, Indonesia is an important market for CDNetworks. “Therefore, we hope to be part of nation building by helping to strengthen the foundations of the digital economy in a sustainable manner,” said Riyan Baharudin, Regional Sales Director, CDNetworks Indonesia.
CDNetworks Targets 30 PoPs in Indonesia
CDNetworks has covered local networks through strategic partnerships with various internet service providers (ISP) in Indonesia such as Telin, XL, and Smartfren. Meanwhile, what has not been covered is the presence of PoPs in Indonesia, currently there are only 20 of them and the number is targeted to be 30 this year.
This additional PoP can ensure comprehensive network coverage, reduce latency, and improve site performance to support digital transformation in all economic sectors in Indonesia. In addition, through the addition of its PoP network, the company strengthens its commitment to providing the best quality network with terabit-per-second (Tbps) capacity, so that it is ready to meet Indonesia’s ever-increasing bandwidth needs.
Based on a survey by the Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association (APJII), Indonesia’s internet penetration rate in 2024 will reach 79.5 percent of the total national population. Most of the distribution is not evenly spread because it is still centered on the island of Java, influenced by Indonesia’s varying geographical conditions in each region.
Apart from that, the high number of cyber attacks can also hinder digital transformation, even though Indonesia has a developed e-commerce sector which is projected to have the largest growth in the world, reaching 30.5 percent in 2024. This increasingly shows the urgency of providing a safe and stable internet network.
As a global technology industry player with more than 20 years of experience, CDNetworks provides leading technology solutions to enable businesses to improve the performance and reliability of their sites and applications. One of CDNetworks’ key services is Cloud Security 2.0 which includes Web Application and API Protection (WAAP) — a powerful solution for application, web and API protection, bot mitigation, WAF, API protection, and protection from DDoS attacks.
In addition, the company has also established 20 scrubbing centers globally; one of them is in Indonesia, with a total capacity of more than 15 Tbps. This scrubbing center is what allows CDNetworks to ensure an uninterrupted network, protect its partners from DDoS attacks, and is supported by a team of experts who are available 24 hours to provide assistance.
CDNetworks is committed to making Indonesia the country with the fastest and safest network in Southeast Asia through regular infrastructure additions, preparation of local talent, and collaborative initiatives with the government in ensuring applicable regulations to achieve Indonesia’s projected digital economic growth of up to 800 percent by 2030.
